Birding
The park offers birdwatching opportunities with over 100 species spotted, including warblers and waterfowl. Bird checklists are available.
Trails
1. Lakeview Trail: A moderate 3-mile loop offering scenic views of Carr Creek Lake, suitable for most skill levels and featuring a variety of local flora and fauna.

2. Marina Point Loop: This easy trail is approximately 0.5 miles long, circling around the marina area; it's perfect for a quick stroll to enjoy waterfront vistas.

3. Pioneer Pathway: Stretching about 1 mile in length, this path takes hikers through wooded terrain with historical markers that highlight early settler history within the park region.

4. Knott County Trail System Connection: While not an official state park trail, nearby trails connect into the larger network surrounding Carr Creek State Park; lengths vary widely across interconnected paths.
Boating
Pontoon and fishing boat rentals available at the full service marina.
Swimming
Catch the suns rays on the longest sand beach in Kentuckys state park system. Open for the summer season.
Fishing
Pleasure boaters and anglers can explore the 750-acre lake with miles of shoreline, and good bass, crappie and walleye fishing.
